For as long as Armitage Hux has known he was attracted to other alphas,
he’s ignored all the messiness of human mating. Unfortunately, Kylo Ren
is hard to ignore.

This is the alpha/alpha kylux a/b/o fic I’ve been talking about for a while. I’m not sure I quite have said all I want to say on that topic, but I’ve been sitting on this for long enough that I had to get it out there.

Enjoy!

Okay, but protective Hux

  • Snoke is tearing into Kylo. Hux watches and he hates it. Kylo was following Snoke’s orders. He did the best he could. It’s not fair. It’s not right. There’s a sudden silence and Hux realizes with a jolt that he said it out loud. He’s terrified, but he stands his ground.
  • They’re on a backwater planet, undercover for some reason. Some rando with a death wish gets in Kylo’s face. It doesn’t matter. They need to move on, but then the guy says something petty about Kylo’s looks, or his parentage and the next thing Hux knows, they’re in a bar brawl and he threw the first punch.
  • Their ship is down. Kylo is injured. FO reinforcements and Resistance fighters are in a race to reach them first. Kylo tells Hux to leave. It’s Kylo the Resistance really wants. Hux calls him an idiot and steadies his blaster, trained on the door.
  • Kylo gets captured. Hux burns a path across the galaxy to get him back.
  • Ppl knowing you don’t fuck with the Knight. If you survive round one, the General will come for you.

Rec me some fic or send me headcanons. I need this in my life rn.

kylux. 2766 words. Very NSFW. No plot whatsoever. Set immediately after Phasma chapter 32.

Also on AO3 here.

Putting Captain Cardinal’s unfortunate visit out of his mind, Armitage resumes the preparations he’s been making since he first got up this morning. All the details are coming together nicely, but the interruption set him back a bit, and he must hurry to be sure he’s ready in time.

ok so I watched TFA after not having seen it for ages and I was taken aback by how angry hux is under the surface. just… simmering. I remember discussing this way back when but I guess I kind of forgot. fanon can take on on a life of its own, and in fic hux is often written as being very steely and calm (guilty of this myself.) and to a degree, he is. but I think it’s worth nothing that this is hard-won: he puts in the effort to maintain his composure. this discipline is important to him. he isn’t naturally the icy, unruffled villain, at least not once you take a good look at him. he isn’t a first order tarkin. in phasma he’s described thus: “confidence, vitality, sureness… and yet there’s something cruel and savage in the man.” I’m interested (and hopeful) to see more of this duality in TLJ.

I also think that calmness is a facade he wears like another greatcoat.

He’s not an “independent contractor” like Ren – he must serve as example to thousands of soldiers, and if he expects them to conform, and desert their individuality, he must serve as example of a perfect ice-cold machine.

But that’s not what he is underneath.

He’s like Dupont in ‘Equilibrium’, who doesn’t take the feelings-suppressing drug, but in public must pretend that he does, to lead by example.

Hux feels everything, but he’s seen what chaos comes from people who act on those feelings (his own co-commander is the latest example), and he has no choice but to hide behind his own mask.
