Consider: the xeno bursts out of Kylo’s chest but because of Medical Science and also his Force strength or whatever, he actually SURVIVES. And now he and the rest of the Finalizer crew have to go up against a Force-sensitive xeno who MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ITS OWN POWERS?? And also has Force sensitivity but hasn’t been TRAINED in it.
Maybe Kylo starts to feel a Presence pressing against his mind, looking for information, learning about the Force, learning…that *it* has the Force…learning…how to use it……………
Does Kylo develop a connection with it? Does it become a beloved animal companion?
Also consider Millicent as Jonesy.
“No! Don’t-! Let it go!” he’d found himself slurring as the thing- that’s what it was, a thing- had been lifted from his opened body, blind and still curled like a spring in prenatal sleep. The medic had paused, holding the beast with thick gloves as it started to fight and screech, tail whipping instruments off the tables. A vat of acid had been prepared to destroy it in, the alien lifeform that had nested its gruesome offspring within his chest. A parasite- but as Kylo, hazed with heavy drugs, had squinted at the squirming creature, he’d felt- whatever it was he felt. “don’t!” he’d whispered hoarsely. “don’t kill it- it’s mine. It’s mine, it’s-” The medic had dropped the creature with a shout as it sank metallic teeth into her arm through the hazard suit. The beast had screeched and scrambled away- and that was the last they saw of it.
Kylo healed. Hux raged. “Who knows what that beast is going to destroy! it could be everywhere, EVERYWHERE, it could be gnawing its way through the life support circuits, as we speak!” he’d been pacing, a lot. Kylo knew pfassk was real when Hux started to pace. “It’s just a baby.” he reasoned, because that was true, right? It had been blind and probably scared. It had no way of knowing how it had come into existance. “It’s a hazardous parasite larva.”, Hux shot back, “and this was possibly the only chance we had at successfully killing it.” and you blew it, Ren. He didn’t say it, but it lingered, a Bantha in the room. “it’s a baby.”, Kylo repeated, though somewhat resigned. With no information on how to bait the creature, the possibility of finding it was fleeting. If it crawled into the air vents, not even the heat sensors would pick it up properly.
When Hux left, seething and restless, Kylo stared at the ceiling and tried to feel sorry. For his mistake, or for himself- both did not work all too well. Instead he found himself wondering where the terrifying creature they had dug from his chest had gone. Whether it felt lost in the endless durasteel world it had been born into. Whether he did, as well.
Sleep came slowly, lapping at the edges of his mind, and when he sunk into welcoming dark, the last thing he felt was a weak flicker of being, somewhere in the metal guts of the ship.
