okay so we all know the Soulmate AU where you see everything in perfect colour but when your soulmate dies, your world gets turned into black and white

now imagine this with Hux/Ben Solo

little Hux seeing everything in such vivid colours and his mother telling him that it means he has a soulmate somewhere in the universe who’s waiting for him

despite his father calling it ‘nonsense’, Hux is happy that his soulmate is seeing things in the same amazing colour that he is

but Hux starts to notice that things are very slowly turning darker, greyer, the colour is being sucked out of everything…the sky isn’t as bright, the trees aren’t as green.

His mother tells him that it’s alright and that she is sure his soulmate is fine but Hux knows that his soulmate is slowly dying

so as Ben falls further to the Dark Side and comes closer to becoming Kylo Ren, Hux’s colourful world loses its colour until, one day when he’s in his late teens, he stands and watches as the last of the blue fades from the sky

with his world now black and white, Hux himself grows colder, jealous of those who still have their soulmate and see in colour

he meets Kylo Ren when he’s assigned to Hux’s Finalizer and Hux thinks nothing of it

Hux is in his quarters one evening when he looks up from his datapad and sees a red mug next to him and he stares at it before he rushes to the mirror and sees his green eyes and red hair

he hears Ren yelling in agony down the corridor, slashing the walls with his lighhtsaber and when he’s calmed down, Hux’s world is abruptly plunged back into black and white

so everytime Kylo feels the call to the light, Hux sees colour
