ever since I saw the “grandson of Palpatine, force sensitive Hux” theory, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it

imagine Kylo Ren giving excuses for destroying a whole room with his saber, “you’ll never understand the dark side” or “the force is something you’ll never comprehend” and Hux just stares at him, unimpressed. maybe takes a sip of caf. if anyone was ever completely unafraid and bored with Kylo, it’d be Hux

like imagine if Hux was able to use the force, and just chose not to. he could do things fine on his own, without the magical workings of the universe. after all, look how well it turned out for Palpatine.

and I bet it’s his grandfather on his mother’s side, and while she’s trained in the force, or at least on a theoretical level, his father isn’t. his father, as force sensitive as a brick, would never allow Hux to make excuses for things via the force or to do things the easy way. and if his father could make it through life without it, then Hux can too, and it’s almost like he’s got something to prove because of it

but overall, my favorite part of this whole idea is when Kylo Ren finds out. I don’t think it’d be something dramatic, like in battle or anything, but maybe when he and Ren have a spontaneous make out session in his quarters, Ren sits Hux on his own desk, and when a stack of papers should have fallen over, they don’t. they just sort of hover there, perfectly in place.

Kylo looks at him, because he’s not doing it, and Hux just shrugs, says, “I’ll tell you about it later” and pulls him back into another kiss. he doesn’t tell him later, and it takes maybe six months of Kylo constantly prodding for him to finally give up out of annoyance.

Oh my gods I love this with the power of a thousand thrown suns.
