Summary:

After two years of travelling the world trying to find himself, Kylo Ren is as lost as ever. When he returns home for a brief visit, he is unexpectedly reunited with his best friend and long-time secret crush, Armitage Hux.

Written for the following prompt from @glass-oceans:

Modern AU: Hux and Kylo have been best friends since high school, that’s why it’s no surprise that when Hux gets invited to the Organa estate for Leila’s birthday they’re placed in the same room because all the others are taken. They share Kylo’s old room and they’re thankful he’s always been big and had a big bed. They get nostalgic about the time they spent there and their unspoken crushes come out at full force. Leia has the “It worked” Look when the next morning they’re acting like drunk in Love teens.

Oh! Hello, Millie,” said the man at the table. “Are you here to help me with my research?”

His voice was low and soft, his accent much less clipped than that of
his brother, almost musical in Matt’s ears. He watched as the cat
jumped up, purrs rumbling through the still air of the room as her ears
were scratched. She turned in a circle on the table before settling
down, curling into a loaf-like ball on the open pages of the book.

“Ah! The lesser known butt-reading technique! Truly you are a lady of
much skill.” The man giggled to himself, hair slipping from one
shoulder to reveal the line of his neck, inked in a swirling tattoo
surrounded by deep purple flowers. He stood, reaching out to move the
cat before seeming to reconsider. “I suppose you’re right. I do
need a break.”

Summary: Kylo’s costume at the office Christmas do is one hell of a holiday surprise. Hux has no choice but to pin him up against the nearest surface and plow him.

He couldn’t believe it. There was actually mistletoe hanging in a corner by the bar, and if that wasn’t completely inappropriate for an interdepartmental holiday do, Hux didn’t know what was. If he saw any of his colleagues snogging he thought he might be sick. It was bad enough that there was a photo booth, and unlimited drinks so long as they stuck to cheap liquor. At least people had been fairly conservative with their costumes. No “Naughty Mrs. Claus” outfits this year. Hux had arrived with his requisite Christmas jumper, and left it at that, but some of his colleagues wore antlered headbands, or hats with elf ears. The Education team seemed to have gone all-out, crafty bunch that they were, all decked out in shiny dresses with giant ribbons on the back like they’d all been gift wrapped. His department was noticeably less festive, probably too tired from a long week of uninstalling the Remembrance Day displays to bother with anything more elaborate than santa hats.

One week ago, Hux met a very strange man at a bar, and hasn’t been able to think of anything else since. Now, he’ll get to see Kylo Ren again, but this time he won’t be working– he’ll be playing.

And if he happens to invite Hux back to his place after his show, well, Hux can really only hope.
