Finally getting around to posting things again. 

This piece was inspired by a scene from @hollyhark ‘s Life Sentence, No Cellmate , where Ren and Hux are holding the helmet right before they kiss. That scene left a lasting impression on me, and the whole Children, Wake Up series lives in a special place in my heart ;w;

Will hopefully be posting more things soon, my stylus is acting up but hopefully it will remain functional ;-;

Once again all I can do is cry over how great @hollyhark​ cwu is, this is what the world gets when I re-read LSNC. This is one of my fave parts tbh, and I wanted to illustrate how they looked in my head but idek if I did it any justice, anyways I just love Hux’s little hat and Ren just being done for by Hux’s debouched expression.

I told @hollyhark that I will draw a scene from the series and finally I made it! There are so many lovely moments, but I guess this is probably my favorite?

I said I was going to bed but something kept me awake, and maybe it was the fact that this art was forthcoming because oh my god it feels like a prophecy fulfilled, this is. gorgeous.

So glad this is the scene you chose– it means a lot to me and this feels so complete, like a scene from a full comic version of the story in an AU verse, if that makes sense– as if these are two beautiful pages from an entire graphic novel that exists in some alternate world where the story is illustrated as opposed to written as a fic– it’s just that good, and I’m rambling but I hope my sincere gratitude for this comes through. It is just breathtaking, so romantic, and I can’t thank you enough for bringing this scene to life like this!

AT ONE POINT I GRABBED MY HAIR IN BOTH HANDS AND JUST. KIND OF PULLED on it until the end and then watched it again um. I had to LEAVE THE ROOM so I could fully absorb this, after lowkey getting annoyed
at my husband because he was like ‘what’s that you’re watching’ and
my response was basically YOU COULDN’T POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND

Seriously, intensely
love this. This is the story,
and I can’t tell you how much it means to me to see it come to life
like this.

I’m okay with sad!! This is gorgeous– I love the way you used the light, which is so important to the whole atmosphere of his room here, and to this part of the story in general, and I’m so glad you drew this scene. His longing and regret are palpable and lovely and sad, but I think there’s also some real hope here, because he’s reaching into that light ;___; Thank you so much for drawing this! You don’t know how excited I get when I get an inkling that you’re working on something from my fic :3
