It seems that with The Last Jedi, we have many new kylux shippers in the fandom. The last two years have been, erm, interesting for kylux, so here are a few things that you should know.

• Hux was not given a first name until “Armitage Day” in 2016, where he was named in one of the pre-TFA novels. This is why there are many different first names for him in early fanfics. Hux’s father’s name is Brendol. Before the reveal of Armitage, people often called Hux “Brendol” in fics.
• “techienician” is the name given to the Matt/Techie pairing. Matt is from Matt the radar technician (Saturday Night Live sketch “Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base”) and Techie from the movie Dredd (played by Domhnall Gleeson). Techie has recently been named Bill Huxley in the recent Dredd comics.
• “benarmie” is the name given to (usually young) Ben Solo paired with (usually) cadet Armitage Hux.
• “Kylo Amidala” is Kylo in traditional Naboo clothing, usually working in politics rather than being a First Order enforcer.
• There is a huge range from soft kylux to hard kylux, with many things in between and tons of AUs. There is something for everyone here!
• Two useful prompt blogs are @softkyluxkinks and @kyluxhardkinks.
• Mid-2016, things got a bit weird after something known as “dildo discourse 2k16″.
• Oviposition means egg insertion. It’s prevalent in the fandom.
• There have been many discourses. Size discourse (who is bigger, Kylo or Hux?), top/bottom discourse, dildo discourse, freckle discourse (does Hux have freckles or not? some people got very worked up over this), etc.
• Robe Hux and the ice blue couch come from Delilah Dawson’s Phasma novel.
• Millicent is Hux’s ginger cat. She is the invention of Pablo Hidalgo, a Disney creative executive.
• A huge portion of the fandom is queer (maybe even the majority), so don’t believe any bullshit you may hear from the antis.

Don’t forget how the The Force Awakens LEGO game gave us aerobics Hux and the fact that Hux eats strawberry ice cream and apparently has a guy following him around with a tray of milkshakes for him lmao. And of course, all those beautiful Hux lines recorded by Domhnall himself.
