I went through my AO3 history and pulled out some fic recs– these are listed in the order that I read them! I haven’t read too widely yet and I’m sure I’m still missing some great stuff, but this is a start and I’m loving the fic in this fandom
so far.

Hopefully most people know of this one already and that reserve’s Kylux fics are all excellent, but just in case this is news to someone– start here, then read all of reserve’s fics. This is a first time fic featuring Ren inadvertantly manipulating his surroundings while having sex, and ugh it’s so good.

Give Me a Shot to Remember by decotex

I think this one is pretty well known already, and its reputation as a great fic is very deserved. It’s very funny, and the emotional impact will sneak up on you in the best way. It pretty much destroyed me– I’m quite attached to the song mentioned at the end. And I’m really glad there’s a sequel now.

We Hang Side by Side by reserve 

Ren has to retrieve a dark artifact and Hux gets sex magick’d in the process. I think this is my favorite sex scene for them I’ve read in anything so far? The humor in this is wonderful, too.

Heinous by llyn

Ren heats Hux’s blue milk and murders the guy he’s jealous of with Hux’s permission. This is brilliant for the exchange during the milk-heating scene alone, and I also love how dark it gets and how authentically they don’t give a shit about doing dark deeds to suit their own whims.

Our Fragile Co-commandership by llyn

Another one many have probably read or heard of because it’s brilliant, and I feel 100% confident saying that despite it being a WIP. I was so so happy to have a second chapter of this, and it’s even better than the first. Funny dialogue and great sex scenes and everything is really just warm and wonderful here, I love this so much.

and your hand in mine by yasgorl

Extremely hot AU about teenage Ben getting involved with older Hux. Heed warnings if you’re particular about age difference stuff (Ben is implied to be over 18, anyway), but if the basic premise sounds like something you’d like OH MAN does this deliver.

A Matter of Taste by reserve

The ship hosts a sweetheart dance and Ren ends up making out with Hux in the bathroom, and it’s adorable.

This might be my favorite on the whole list, it’s so fucking good. Hux gets covertly made fun of by snooty society types at a function, Ren gets defensive, there’s an amazing sex scene and Hux has his first ever bath.

A good short porny fic based on fan art of Ren blowing Hux, featuring praise kink Ren.

Taking Advantage by chickadddddd

lol okay I made notes for these while compiling them last night and mine for this one was: “Hux rescues Ren from a sex slave auction, fucks him.” Well, that’s oversimplifying it, but this is a delightful fic and that is the basic scenario. Highly recommended for a porny fic that feels very complete and has some weight to it.

This is a modern/real world AU with awesome world building and backstory for both of them, and a take on the Girls Couch Scene that I loveddd, and Hux with long hair :3
